Location: Portishead, Bristol (Hybrid) Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Compliance & Certification Officer to support the delivery of accredited certification services across international operations.

Working closely with the Compliance Director, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the accredited management system schemes, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements, supporting certification activities, and helping to continuously improve the management systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working within a certification body who enjoys technical compliance, quality systems, and collaborating with international teams.

Key Responsibilities

As Technical Compliance & Certification Officer, you will:

  • Support accreditation activities, including liaising with UKAS and other Accreditation Bodies (ABs).
  • Assist with accreditation assessments and external audits.
  • Review certification files, conduct contract reviews, and support certification decision processes.
  • Maintain and continually improve the company's management systems to ensure compliance with current standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Help implement effective and efficient quality management processes across the business.
  • Coordinate communications with accreditation bodies regarding audit planning and technical matters.
  • Maintain, review, and update technical documentation and controlled documents.
  • Support the Compliance Director with technical compliance initiatives across multiple international offices.

About You

We're looking for someone who already has experience within the certification industry and understands accredited management system schemes.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working for a Certification Body.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and accreditation body requirements.
  • Understanding of certification processes, including file reviews and certification decisions.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with accreditation bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Desirable

  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Knowledge of one or more ISO management system standards such as:
    • ISO 9001
    • ISO 14001
    • ISO 45001
    • ISO 27001
    • ISO 22000
    • ISO 50001
    • ISO 13485
