Your Impact:
Join OpenText Professional Services as a Technical Consultant, delivering innovative solutions across the OpenText portfolio. You’ll work across the full solution lifecycle, from architecture, design, and implementation through to testing, documentation, and customer handover.
This is a highly collaborative, customer-facing role where you’ll work closely with customers, sales, and delivery teams to turn business requirements into effective technical solutions. We’re looking for people with the ability, curiosity, and ambition to succeed. You don’t need to have every skill today - we’ll provide the training, mentoring, and development opportunities to help you grow into a confident Technical Consultant.
You're great at:
As part of the OpenText Architecture Practice, you’ll help design and deliver technical solutions that meet customer needs and create lasting business value. You’ll:
- Work with customers and project teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to solution architecture and technical design, applying best practices across the OpenText portfolio.
- Install, configure, and implement OpenText software components, delivering projects to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Create clear, high-quality technical documentation to support solution delivery and ongoing operations.
- Communicate technical options, recommendations, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales and bid activities, including technical solution design, scoping, and effort estimation.
- Identify opportunities to expand and enhance customer solutions through change requests and ongoing engagement.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams, managing expectations and ensuring successful delivery.
- Work across a variety of industries and projects, from fast-paced engagements to larger transformation programmes.
- Progressively take ownership of technical engagements, developing the skills and confidence to lead delivery with increasing autonomy.
- Learn from experienced consultants and a dedicated mentor while developing your consulting, architecture, and technical expertise.
- Travel nationally and occasionally internationally, including customer-site engagement where required.

What you need to succeed:
Previous experience working on technical implementation and software configuration projects, involving several of the following areas:
- Delivering enterprise-wide solutions. Electronic Information Management experience is of benefit, but not essential.
- Implementation and Upgrades, systems Integration, system and unit testing approach and methodologies
- Good working knowledge of the following technologies: either Windows Server, Solaris, or Linux, SQL – either Oracle or SQL Server specific knowledge preferable.
- XML-related technologies and frameworks such as SAX, DOM, STAX.
- HTTP/HTTPS and related protocols.
- Web Server Technologies, TCP/IP, and basic networking protocol knowledge.
- LDAP and/or Active Directory Experience & Cloud Technologies and practices.
- Scripting Languages
- An understanding of software development lifecycle and industry standard frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Contributing to and writing detailed, quality documentation.
- Participation in the pre-sales process and contributing to sales/bid documentation.
- Ability to build and manage strong customer relationships, both internal and external.
- Ability to use own initiative to resolve problems and to obtain relevant information needed to perform a given task.
- Willingness to travel (both UK and internationally).

Any experience with OpenText products, in the Content Server, xECM, and Documentum space is highly desirable but not essential.
Eligible to obtain high-level security clearance in the UK.
