Technical Consultant

Location: Horsham, West Sussex

Salary: Up to £50,000 + potential commission

About the Role

We’re working with an established and growing IT services business that is looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to join their team.

This is a varied, hands-on position that combines technical consultancy, presales, project delivery, and escalations. You’ll play a key role in understanding client requirements, designing and delivering technical solutions, and supporting the wider technical team when complex issues arise.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with customers, taking ownership of projects from initial design through to completion, and acting as the technical point of reference within an MSP environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients to understand their technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Support presales activities, including technical discovery, solution design, scoping, and client presentations.
  • Take ownership of technical projects from initial planning and design through to implementation and handover.
  • Lead and deliver infrastructure, cloud, Microsoft 365, and networking projects.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for the Service Desk, providing guidance and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Produce technical documentation, project plans, and solution designs.
  • Work alongside the Service Desk, Project, and Account Management teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
  • Provide technical consultancy and guidance to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client infrastructure, security, and overall IT environments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high technical standard.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
