M365 Technical Consultant

Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + Benefits
Clearance: SC Eligible

About the Role

We’re working with a Leading MSP business that is looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to join their growing team. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting secure technical solutions, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of the internal IT environment.

You’ll work closely with customers and senior stakeholders, providing technical consultancy, producing high-quality technical documentation and supporting pre-sales activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure technical solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Work directly with senior customer stakeholders to understand technical needs.
  • Provide technical support to customers, including occasional on-site support.
  • Produce and contribute to RFP, ITT, RFI, SoW, HLD and LLD documentation.
  • Provide technical consultancy and guidance throughout customer engagements.
  • Support the pre-sales process with technical expertise, proposals and solution design.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and security of the internal IT environment.

About You

We’re looking for a technically strong Consultant / Infrastructure Engineer with experience across Microsoft, networking and customer-facing consultancy.

You should have experience with:

  • Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server
  • Enterprise networking – Juniper, Cisco or HPE
  • Technical consultancy, solution design and customer engagement
  • Producing detailed technical documentation and proposals
  • Providing hands-on technical support alongside consultancy
  • SC clearance eligibility

Desirable Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 or AZ-104
  • Cyber Essentials+ / CIS Benchmarks and system hardening
  • Palo Alto or SonicWall firewalls
  • VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox or Morpheus
  • Server hardware and storage technologies
  • Cloud networking and security
  • Networking certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, CCNA or JNCIA
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
