About the role
This role is ideal for someone with strong existing Investments knowledge who enjoys tackling complex technical queries and supporting Partners with expert guidance. You’ll thrive here if you can confidently interpret scheme rules, legislation, and processes, and translate them into clear, practical explanations for both colleagues and Partners.
Because this is a fast-paced, high-volume helpdesk environment, the role will suit someone who remains calm under pressure, can juggle multiple priorities, and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality responses. You should be naturally analytical, comfortable handling detailed information, and motivated by solving problems thoroughly and efficiently.
The role is primarily a core service, but there may be opportunities for added value projects.
This position is a great fit for someone who takes ownership of their work and is proactive in keeping their technical understanding up to date. If you’re collaborative, detail-focused, and take pride in helping others navigate complex matters, you’ll excel in our team.
Key Responsibilities of the Job
- Deliver a high-quality technical query resolution service to Partners and PSS, ensuring all guidance is accurate, compliant, and aligned to SJP standards.
- Use expert-level consultative questioning to establish root causes and complex technical needs, providing clear, effective solutions to support the Partnership.
- Design and deliver bespoke technical presentations to enhance Partner capability, productivity, and confidence.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying potential development to systems, tools, and processes that enhance technical query resolution.
- Provide support on SJP products, procedures, and wider technical matters.
- Maintain oversight of multiple SJP functions to ensure cohesive, accurate solutions for complex, cross-departmental technical queries.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Mezzanine bookings when required, consulting on bespoke, high-complexity cases requiring deeper discussion.
- Take accountability for continually developing and maintaining advanced technical, product, process, and service knowledge.
- Support team development through targeted training delivery aligned to the competency framework as and when required.
- Provide ad-hoc technical signoff for Partnership-facing content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
