Technical Manager (Leisure Facilities)

Location: Flexible / Site Based
Job Type: Full Time
Sector: Leisure & Facilities Management

An established leisure facilities operator is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to support the delivery of maintenance and hard facilities management services across leisure centres.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically qualified professional with mechanical, electrical, or building services experience who enjoys a varied role combining planned maintenance, reactive repairs, contractor management, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across leisure facilities.
  • Manage a team of managers and technicians to deliver a wide range of support services.
  • Carry out routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Undertake and coordinate minor reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building fabric disciplines.
  • Act as a first responder for maintenance-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Liaise with and oversee specialist contractors undertaking servicing, inspections, and repair works.
  • Support the preparation of maintenance specifications and scopes of work.
  • Assist with contractor evaluation and selection processes.
  • Work closely with operational management to identify and resolve maintenance requirements.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical Building Services, or a related building trade.
  • Practical experience within facilities management, building maintenance, or a similar environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and service providers.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent organisational skills.
