The Role
There's a particular kind of energy on a site that's building three hundred plots a year, and it's not for everyone. It suits people who like pace, who like knowing that what they draw this month will be foundations by autumn, and who don't mind a bit of noise in the diary. This developer builds thousands of homes across the country every year, and their South Yorkshire division is looking for someone to join the technical team behind one of their busiest live regions.
You'll be working across a portfolio of house-type led developments, taking sites from technical handover through to build-ready information, and keeping the whole process moving at the speed this kind of programme demands. It's a role built for someone who wants to properly learn the volume housebuilding machine, structured, well-resourced, and with a clear route upward if you want it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
