Technical Data Analyst Role

Nixor are currently working on an exciting Technical Data Analyst role that opens the door into a lucrative Data Modelling career, within a brand new Data & AI Office.

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how data is structured, what it means and how it should be modelled. You might already be a Data Modeller. Or you might currently be working as a Technical Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst or Data Design Analyst who has strong SQL/Python skills and has been exposed to data modelling.

Either route could work.

This is not a BI, reporting or visualisation Data Analyst role.

What will you actually be doing?

You'll work on the "left-hand side" of the data lifecycle – taking raw data and business requirements and working out how that data should be understood, structured and incorporated into the Enterprise Data Model.

That will involve:

  • Analysing and profiling data using SQL and/or Python
  • Working with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and becoming an SME in the data
  • Creating conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Identifying entities, attributes, relationships and business definitions
  • Producing source-to-target mappings (STTM) and data mapping documentation
  • Supporting metadata, lineage, data dictionaries and modelling standards
  • Working closely with Data Engineers and handing over your models and mappings for them to implement
  • Helping shape trusted, reusable data within a modern Databricks / Medallion environment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Who could be a good fit?

You don't necessarily need to be an established Enterprise Data Modeller.

We're equally interested in speaking to technically strong Data Analysts who have worked closely with data structures and understand data modelling concepts.

You might have experience with some of the following:

  • Conceptual, logical or physical modelling
  • Source-to-target mapping
  • Data profiling
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Data mapping
  • ERDs
  • Entities & relationships
  • Metadata
  • Data lineage
  • Data dictionaries
  • Enterprise or domain data models

Experience with ERwin, ER/Studio, Sparx or similar modelling tools would be useful, but isn't essential.

What this role isn't

This isn't a Power BI / dashboard / visualisation role.

It's also not Data Science, predictive modelling or MLOps.

And it's not a hands-on Data Engineering position.

It's about getting underneath the data: understanding it, analysing it, modelling it and creating the designs and mappings that Data Engineers can then build from.

Package

  • Salary: £75,000 to £88,000 + 12% bonus + up to 21% pension contribution
  • Location: Wilmslow / South Manchester
  • Working Model: Hybrid – 50% office / 50% home

If you're a Technical Data Analyst who enjoys the structure and design of data more than building dashboards, or an existing Data Modeller looking for a major enterprise programme, then please get in touch.
