Role purpose / summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Delivery Lead to join a high-performing technology team within a leading global banking environment. This role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives, ensuring alignment between business objectives, technical solutions, regulatory requirements, and strategic outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of delivery leadership, technical credibility, stakeholder management, and operational excellence. You will work across engineering, architecture, business analysis, product, and business teams to deliver high-impact programmes and technology solutions within a complex and highly regulated financial services environment.
Previous experience within banking, financial services, investment banking, retail banking, capital markets, or wealth management environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology projects and programmes from initiation through to implementation and transition into production support.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, roadmaps, governance artefacts, RAID logs, and resource forecasts to ensure successful programme execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, business analysis, testing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and external suppliers.
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure transparent communication of programme status, risks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery outcomes to senior leadership and governance forums.
- Drive delivery using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies as required.
- Manage budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while maintaining focus on delivery objectives.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, operational resilience expectations, and regulatory obligations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across delivery practices, governance frameworks, tooling, and team effectiveness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
