MCS Group Job Opportunity
MCS Group is working with a growing technology business looking to appoint a Technical Delivery Lead to take ownership of complex, client-facing technical deployments. This is a hands-on leadership role sitting between engineering, infrastructure and delivery. You'll lead a technical team, coordinate multiple deployments at once and make sure projects move from plan through to successful delivery.
You'll be joining a business working on technically challenging software in highly secure and regulated environments, so this will suit someone comfortable operating where reliability, process and attention to detail really matter. Ideal opportunity for a lead or manager of devops engineers or SREs who is looking to join a scaling business and shape a growing function.
The Role
You'll take ownership of technical delivery across multiple client environments, including:
- Leading and developing a team across DevOps, infrastructure and technical engineering
- Planning and coordinating multiple concurrent technical deployments
- Building repeatable deployment processes, runbooks and working practices
- Acting as a senior escalation point when technical issues arise
- Working closely with engineering, product, programme and client teams
- Managing delivery priorities, resource and technical risk
- Improving deployment automation, reliability and operational processes
- Remaining technically close enough to the environment to support your team when needed

What We're Looking For
Ideally have experience across a combination of:
- Technical delivery, infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering or technical operations
- Leading engineers or technically focused teams
- Delivering software or infrastructure into client environments
- AWS, Linux, networking, Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies
- CI/CD and deployment automation
- Working within secure, regulated or high-assurance environments
- Managing several technical workstreams or deployments simultaneously
- Communicating confidently with both technical teams and senior stakeholders

You don't need to come from one specific industry. Experience within cyber security, government, critical infrastructure, financial services or another highly regulated environment would all be relevant. This would particularly suit someone who enjoys combining people leadership, technical problem solving and delivery ownership, rather than moving completely away from the technology.
Salary
Up to £75,000 with a package which includes share options
