About the role
We're looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to own how our development team actually delivers: the plan, the pace, and the day to day discipline that turns product ideas into shipped, well documented software. You'll work closely with our Head of Engineering and our COO, and you'll be the face of the development team day to day, the person developers actually talk to about their work.
This is a grip and leadership role, not a deep technical authority role, that side stays with the Head of Engineering by design. What we need is someone who runs the room, sets the pace, and gets the most out of the team without needing to personally verify every technical decision behind it.

What you'll be doing
- Owning the execution plan from scratch: sequencing, dependencies, and what breaks if something moves
- Running real ceremonies, stand ups, planning, and retros, and making sure what gets agreed in a retro actually happens
- Managing our Chapter Leads day to day, workload, and 1:1s, holding them accountable for the standards they own directly
- Understanding and measuring delivery pace, and challenging estimates against real technical complexity rather than just accepting them
- Keeping in-house and contractor developers talking to each other and sharing knowledge across the team
- Making sure Support and Marketing know what's shipping before it ships, with enough notice to actually prepare
- Driving active use of AI tools, particularly Claude, across the development team every day, not just making it available
What we're looking for
- Genuine grip, someone who doesn't wait to be told something is slipping
- Technical fluency, able to assess whether an estimate is credible, without needing to code daily
- Real experience managing hybrid teams, in house plus outsourced or distributed
- Direct experience running agile ceremonies that actually function, not theatre
- Evidence of backbone, concrete examples of surfacing bad news early and pushing back on leadership
- Evidence of building team cohesion where none existed before, not just tracking output
- Comfortable living in Claude day to day and driving AI adoption across a team, this one's non-negotiable
- Startup or scale up background, comfortable with ambiguity and speed
- SaaS domain experience, familiarity with squad and chapter based team structures, or exposure to QA process design are all a plus, not a requirement

What we offer
- £55,000 to £70,000 depending on experience
