Technical Delivery Manager – Data Centre Projects

Location: London, United Kingdom
Salary: £70,000–£80,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are working on behalf of our client, a leading technology infrastructure and connectivity organisation, to recruit an experienced Technical Manager to support the delivery of major data centre projects in London.

This is a key operational role for an experienced technical professional with a strong background in hyperscale data centres, telecommunications infrastructure, ICT or electronic security. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational expertise throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial bids and pre-sales through commercial review, pre-construction and final project delivery.

Working closely with Project Directors, Operations Managers, commercial teams and project delivery personnel, the Technical Manager will help ensure that project proposals are technically sound, operational risks are identified early, and projects transition smoothly from award through to on-site execution.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with proven leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement skills. They will become a key point of contact for technical matters relating to data centre infrastructure, project requirements and delivery strategy, while continually identifying opportunities to improve processes, documentation and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Management and Pre-Sales Support

  • Support the sales team with Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and operational input where required.
  • Provide technical and operational expertise to pre-sales teams to strengthen proposals and identify potential delivery challenges before contracts are awarded.
  • Assist in developing project schedules and delivery plans during the tender and bid stages.
  • Review client requirements, specifications and technical documentation to identify potential risks, omissions and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Support commercial teams with technical reviews of contracts, scopes of work, deliverables and project commitments.
  • Provide practical guidance on the feasibility, implementation and operational implications of proposed technical solutions.
  • Help ensure proposed services and solutions can be delivered effectively within the agreed project scope, programme and commercial requirements.

Pre-Construction and Project Planning

  • Provide pre-construction support following project award, ensuring a structured and efficient transition from commercial agreement to on-site delivery.
  • Coordinate preparatory activities to ensure key lead-in requirements and central service activities are completed before installation teams commence work.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, schematics and associated technical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify outstanding technical queries, potential design issues and operational constraints, ensuring these are addressed before they affect project delivery.
  • Work closely with Project Directors, Operations Managers and Project Managers to align pre-construction activities with the wider project strategy.
  • Develop, implement and maintain installation trackers, testing schedules and project documentation.
  • Support the planning and coordination of resources, activities and deliverables across multiple project sites.
  • Ensure project teams have the information, documentation and processes required to deliver work efficiently and consistently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
