(Applicants from Spain, Germany, Poland or Netherlands will also be considered for this role)
Salary Ranges:
- United Kingdom: £58,500 - £70,000
- Spain: €61,600 - €72,000
- Poland: PLN 212,000 - 240,000
- Germany: €84,000 - €94,000
- Netherlands: €81,600 - €92,000

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re continuing to invest in our people, our laboratories and our technical capabilities and we’re now looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to oversee the strategic & operational management and development of our Construction & Energy Certification operations.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity within BSI Product Certification, with responsibility for leading our certification activities across the Construction and Energy product sectors.
This role will be responsible for upholding the highest levels of accreditation compliance and delivering strong client engagement in the services that we provide in those industry sectors.
This role will ensure the purpose, responsibilities, and accountabilities of the roles within its teams (Certification Managers, Graduate Certification Managers, Senior Certification Managers) are delivered to the highest levels of service. Monitoring team performance in all aspects of their roles expecting excellence and managing performance accordingly.
The role will provide thought leadership and industry engagement in both sector areas, ensuring BSI remains relevant and recognised as a partner of choice for industry with specific knowledge and experience in both sector groups essential.
Achievement of operational delivery targets, commercial results, and measurable KPI’s from each role in their team.
Strategic & Industry Leadership
- Provide strategic and technical leadership across BSI's Construction and Energy certification activities.
- Monitor regulatory, technological and market developments and identify opportunities for BSI to develop and enhance its certification services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, trade bodies, committees and external authorities.
- Represent BSI at industry events, exhibitions, seminars and technical forums, strengthening BSI's position as a trusted partner and technical authority.
- Contribute to the wider Product Certification strategy and provide expert advice to the PC Management and Leadership Team.

- Maintain the technical integrity and accreditation compliance of certification activities, ensuring services continue to meet relevant standards and BSI requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and challenge where required, ensuring certification activities are delivered consistently and to the required level of technical and professional rigour.
- Maintain effective relationships with accreditation bodies, regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Ensure teams maintain the required levels of technical competence and support the continual improvement of certification processes and services.
Operational & Commercial Leadership
- Lead the effective delivery of client projects, ensuring quality, service levels, operational performance and commercial targets are achieved.
- Take accountability for P&L, contributing to financial planning, forecasting, resource planning and cost control.
- Monitor operational and commercial KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and client experience.
- Ensure appropriate resource and capability is in place to meet current and future business demand.
- Support the development and successful implementation of new certification products and services, working collaboratively across BSI.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of experienced certification and technical professionals, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance.
- Provide clear direction and objectives for leaders within the team and support them in developing their own people and technical capability.
- Identify future capability requirements, succession opportunities and development needs across the team.
- Ensure effective performance management, coaching and development processes are embedded across the function.
- Lead teams through organisational, technological and market change, encouraging innovation and new ways of working.
About You
We are looking for an experienced technical and business leader who can combine technical knowledge with strong operational and strategic leadership.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience within product testing, assessment, certification or conformity assessment relating to Construction Products or Energy Products (Gas or Electrical)
- Strong knowledge of relevant product legislation, standards and regulatory requirements.
- A deep understanding of international good-practices and accreditation requirements, particularly across ISO 17065 and ISO 17025.
- Experience leading experienced technical professionals, including managers and technical specialists.
- Demonstrable experience of developing new business areas, certification services or technical capabilities within a global organisation.
- Experience managing budgets, financial plans, forecasting and commercial performance.
- Experience engaging with industry bodies, regulators, accreditation bodies and senior external stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate market, regulatory and technological developments into opportunities for the business.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage confidently with technical experts, senior leadership, clients and external industry stakeholders.
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
