Contract Technical Delivery Lead

Contract | Hybrid | West Yorkshire

We're looking for an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to take ownership of digital delivery, technical assurance and architecture across a range of platforms and business systems.

This is a senior technical leadership role for someone with a strong development or engineering background who can challenge technical decisions, manage delivery partners and get hands-on when required - without being a full-time developer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development backlog, sprint planning, requirements, sign-off and delivery timelines.
  • Lead internal development teams alongside external development and delivery partners.
  • Challenge architectural decisions, technical approaches and scope.
  • Manage delivery budgets, vendors and technology suppliers.
  • Provide technical assurance across digital and wider business projects.
  • Define and oversee middleware and integration requirements.
  • Provide QA and technical sign-off for stories, bugs, features and designs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
