We are looking to appoint a Fashion Technical Demonstrator in Pattern Cutting and Garment Construction to join our Technical and Simulation Resources team at Buckinghamshire New University. In this hands-on role, you will provide students with invaluable technical instruction in garment construction, pattern cutting, and the application of garment technology, ensuring that industry standards and innovative methods are upheld. This post would provide additional support to the wider technical team as required.

Your experience in garment construction processes and knowledge of pattern-cutting technology will enable you to deliver highly specialised workshops within an educational setting. You will provide expert technical support in garment construction, pattern cutting, soft tailoring, fabric properties, and specialist industrial machinery. This is an exciting opportunity to share your technical expertise in an environment where creativity, innovation, and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
