Beaumont/Arcova is committed to delivering high-quality serviced office environments in Prime Central Cambridge. We are seeking someone to work closely with the architects and construction team throughout the design, tender, and construction process. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and coordinating technical information, materials, products, and construction solutions, ensuring that design intent is supported by practical, buildable, and commercially appropriate solutions.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The role requires an organized and driven individual who may come from an architectural technology, architecture, interior architecture, design, construction, or related technical background. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of building technical details, building services, building regulations, and British Standards, together with experience researching and comparing technical information and supporting the tendering process.

The ideal candidate will be confident interpreting manufacturer and technical drawings and documentation, communicating with architects, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers, and assessing different products and solutions from both a practical and commercial perspective. They will be detail-oriented, proactive, and keen to develop strong hands-on construction knowledge, with proven experience using AutoCAD and Revit, and 10+ years' relevant experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify suitable construction systems, materials, finishes, and technical products.
  • Review product information, technical data, drawings, details, specifications, certifications, warranties, and installation requirements.
  • Compare products and systems based on performance, quality, suitability, durability, cost, and availability.
  • Review samples, mock-ups, and completed installations on site.
  • Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors to obtain technical information, samples, and recommendations.
  • Maintain an organized record of product selections, technical information, samples, and approvals.
  • Work closely with the architect and construction manager to ensure material and product selections support the design intent and that proposed solutions are practical, buildable, and suitable for site conditions, construction requirements, and programme.
  • Coordinate product information and technical submissions with the wider project team.
  • Assist with the construction tender process.
  • Assist with resolving technical and material-related queries during construction.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of building technical details, building services, building regulations, and British Standards.
  • Experience researching, reviewing, and comparing technical information, products, and construction systems.
  • Experience with the tendering process and an understanding of construction procurement.
  • Ability to understand and interpret manufacturer drawings, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with architects, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Practical and commercially aware approach to assessing products, materials, and alternative technical solutions.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records of technical information, samples, selections, and approvals.
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, researching practical solutions.
  • Interest in learning and developing hands-on construction knowledge.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ideally 10+ years' experience in architectural technology, architecture, interior architecture, design, construction, or a related technical discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree, qualification, or equivalent experience in architectural technology, architecture, project management, construction, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant professional or technical qualifications would be advantageous.
