The Role
Location: Hackney, London. Work arrangement: On-site · Full-time
We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer with a strong technical background and a solid understanding of product development and manufacturing processes. The role focuses on translating creative concepts into technically viable, production-ready solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with Project and Production teams, supporting the technical development and execution of a wide range of projects, including:
- Permanent luxury retail environments
- Temporary installations, including pop-ups and showrooms
- Window displays
- Point-of-sale (POS) products
- Product development

Key responsibilities
- Translate creative concepts into technically sound and buildable solutions.
- Develop technical solutions, including construction systems, technical details and specifications for industrial and/or artisanal manufacturing.
- Produce detailed technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Prepare clear, accurate technical documentation for production, ensuring it can be effectively interpreted by suppliers and workshops.
- Work closely with Project and Production teams, suppliers and workshops throughout the production and execution process, identifying and resolving technical issues during production and installation.
- Adapt designs and technical solutions to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Contribute to the selection and optimisation of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve technical solutions, efficiency and buildability.

Essential requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical product development.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with demonstrable experience.
- Good proficiency in Rhinoceros and AutoCAD, with demonstrable experience.
- Experience in an industrial, production, manufacturing, shopfitting or bespoke manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, both industrial and artisanal.
- Experience working closely with production teams or adapting designs for manufacturing.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and SketchUp.
- Proactive, organised and able to manage time and deadlines independently.
- Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development, Product Design or a related field.
