Technical Designer - Joinery/Furniture

Location: Whitby, North Yorkshire
Job Type: Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer to join an established workshop in Whitby, working on exclusive super-prime residential and fine furniture projects alongside leading architects and interior designers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Coordinate with designers, contractors, and interfacing trades.
  • Order and track samples and finishes.
  • Carry out site surveys and initial templating.
  • Produce drawings for approval, manufacture, and installation.
  • Work to project programmes and flag any issues affecting costing or delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience within super-prime residential joinery and/or fine furniture.
  • 5+ years’ SolidWorks experience.
  • Strong knowledge of timber, veneer, glass, metal, upholstery, and specialist finishes.
  • Experience with measured surveys and technical drawing packages.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
