Technical Designer

A well-established firm that has been operating in the sector for a number of years is currently seeking a Technical Designer. With an amazing office based in London with excellent travel routes. They have secured a brilliant pipeline of work with projects valued up to £15 million+.

They are a company that has a strong ethic to promote from within and help to build and progression you through to a more senior position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced skills in Revit ability, which can be shown in your portfolio on UK projects.
  • Strong previous experience of using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong drawing skills and good writing.
  • Good and confident spoken communication skills
  • Knowledge of British building regulations.
  • Experience through all RIBA stages and proven experience creating presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Assist in the coordination and integration of design elements across different disciplines.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve any design conflicts to optimize project efficiency.
  • Maintain project documentation and adhere to established standards and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ experience using AutoCAD & Revit.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Experience within the area of Traditional tender & build projects.
  • Demonstrative experience with construction drawings, detailed drawings and schedules.
  • Liaison with contractors i.e., Mechanical, Electrical & Joinery
  • A good knowledge of current Building Regulations.
  • Process orientated & self-disciplined individual.
  • Have a proven track record of understanding design proposals and creating technical drawing packages to support these designs.
  • To effectively carry out building surveys and to prepare technical documentation with guidance from Building Control.
  • To have confidence in attending site meetings on their own and communicate effectively with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Experience of measured building surveying.
