🚨 Technical Director – Data Centre Delivery & Innovation
I’m currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Technical Director with deep experience across the data centre / mission-critical sector.
The role will take ownership of projects from the outset — establishing the technical strategy, delivery approach, standards, team structure, and key requirements needed to set projects up for success. From mobilisation through to delivery, the Technical Director will provide senior technical oversight, keeping teams aligned, technically informed, and focused on delivering accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards for our end clients.
The focus is on finding someone who is technically exceptional, understands where the data centre market is heading, and can provide genuine technical leadership across major projects.
You’ll be expected to:
- Shape technical strategy from project inception
- Challenge designs, technologies, and methodologies
- Stay ahead of emerging data centre technologies and industry trends
- Provide technical governance, assurance, and risk oversight
- Advise senior clients and key project stakeholders
- Identify new technologies and approaches to improve delivery
- Bring a deep understanding of critical electrical, mechanical, controls, and building services infrastructure

Experience Required
- Significant senior-level experience within the data centre / mission-critical sector.
- Proven experience delivering complex data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of the complete data centre lifecycle from design and construction through commissioning and operational readiness.
- Experience establishing and mobilising projects from an early stage.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong understanding of critical electrical, mechanical, controls, and building services infrastructure.
- Experience working directly with major end clients, consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Strong technical governance, assurance, and risk management experience.
- A genuine interest in emerging data centre technologies and industry developments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

We’re looking for someone who can look beyond the current project and understand where the data centre industry is heading, how technology is evolving, and what this means for future projects. We are looking for someone who is technically credible, commercially aware, and naturally authoritative, but who can also engage effectively with project teams and get into the detail when required. You will be someone who can look at a project at the outset and quickly establish what needs to happen, who needs to do it, what could go wrong, and how it should be delivered.
