Technical Director – Fire Engineering

Northern Ireland or London | Hybrid

We’re working with an ambitious, independent fire engineering consultancy with an expanding presence across the UK and Ireland. As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for an exceptional Technical Director to take ownership of its technical direction, develop its people and help shape the services and capabilities that will define its next chapter.

You could be based from the company’s Northern Ireland headquarters or its London office, with genuine flexibility around hybrid working.

If you’re a Chartered Fire Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with leadership, commercial awareness and a desire to build something, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

The Opportunity

As Technical Director, you’ll become the senior technical authority within the business.

  • You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to set technical strategy, maintain exceptional standards and ensure the consultancy continues to deliver innovative, robust and commercially effective fire engineering solutions.
  • You’ll have the autonomy to shape how the business works technically — from developing methodologies and QA processes to building new capabilities, mentoring future technical leaders and identifying opportunities to expand into new sectors and markets.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
