About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Director who will work closely with the development, commercial, finance, and construction teams to ensure that Technical and Design goals align with the business's overall vision and delivery schedules.

As Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of large and complex developments from inception through to project completion. Working closely with the development, construction, and commercial teams, you will ensure that each project meets regulatory standards, stays within budget, and aligns with the organization’s vision for quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Lead and direct all technical activities, from project feasibility and planning to construction and handover. Ensure technical deliverables meet project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Design Coordination: Oversee the coordination between architectural, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and interior design teams to deliver cohesive and practical designs. Act as the key liaison between external consultants and internal teams.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental standards. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the project adheres to both technical and aesthetic standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with senior management, investors, regulatory bodies, and clients to provide regular project updates. Foster positive relationships to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify and proactively manage technical risks that could impact project delivery. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address potential delays, cost overruns, and other issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented team culture. Develop the team’s expertise in line with industry best practices and company standards.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Drive sustainability initiatives within projects, ensuring designs and practices contribute to long-term environmental objectives. Introduce innovative construction methodologies and technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
