Technical Director, C#, .NET, Platform Strategy, COR7634
A Technical Director opportunity has emerged at a growing software business based in Manchester and it is well worth a closer look. Could this be the move where you take genuine ownership of a technology function and leave a lasting mark on how a product evolves?
The Role
The Technical Director will hold end-to-end accountability for all things technology within the organisation. That covers platform ownership, engineering team leadership, hiring and people development, and setting a clear forward direction for how the company's software grows and scales. Day-to-day, you will be operating at the point where technology meets commercial reality, advising on architecture, steering the team, and ensuring the right foundations are in place for the future.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
