Mission
We're looking for an experienced Technical Documentation Manager to join our growing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) capability and lead the development, structure, and lifecycle management of technical publications for our Unmanned Air System (UAS) programmes. You'll take ownership of the technical documents, ensuring it is accurate, compliant, and delivered on schedule to support the airworthiness and in-service support of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, authoring, review, and approval of S1000D-compliant data modules across the publication lifecycle.
- Manage the Common Source Database (CSDB), associated data module code (DMC) structures and Data Module Requirements List (DMRL), ensuring correct classification, version control, and configuration management.
- Liaise with the customer and regulatory bodies to confirm documentation meets contractual and airworthiness requirements (e.g. MAA, Def Stan 00-600 series, or equivalent).
- Coordinate with engineering change processes to ensure documentation stays synchronised with design baselines.
- Defining and implementing a documentation strategy aligned with business objectives and standards.
- Support Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) delivery where applicable.
- Manage document reviews, sign-off cycles, and audit trails to support quality and configuration control.
- Report on documentation progress, risks, and milestones to programme leadership.

Qualifications, Experience & Commitments
- Familiarity with ASD S1000D Standards and experience managing S1000D-compliant technical documentation, ideally within defence or aerospace.
- Direct experience producing or managing an Air-System Document Set (ADS) or equivalent document set for a military or complex air platform.
- Experience working on a UAS/UAV/Defence programme, or a strong understanding of the unique documentation demands of unmanned/aerial platforms.
- Solid understanding of CSDB tools, data module structuring, and business rules implementation.
- Experience managing a technical authoring / publications team.
- Familiarity with configuration management and change control processes in a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of global documentation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices inc. knowledge of Def Stan 00-600 series or equivalent NATO/MoD documentation standards.
- Experience with IETP authoring and viewer tools.
- Security Vetting: Due to the nature of our Defence contracts, all applicants must be eligible to hold and willing to undergo the vetting process for UK SC level Security Clearance.
- Travel: Willingness to undertake occasional national and international travel to TEKEVER sites (UK, Portugal, US, Europe) and potentially to deployed operations globally.

Skills & Attributes
- Solid technical expertise and attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable liaising with engineering, airworthiness, and customer representatives. Including balancing customer expectations against engineering realities and timescales
- Document planning and scheduling against programme milestones.
- Ability to manage external suppliers or subcontracted teams where required.
- Understanding of the wider engineering lifecycle — how design changes, safety cases, and support concepts feed into documentation
