Technical Due Diligence Manager - Data Centers, EMEA

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Due Diligence Manager- Data Centers, EMEA based in United Kingdom.

This is a unique opportunity for an infrastructure specialist to help shape the physical foundation of next-generation AI infrastructure. In this role, you will lead technical due diligence activities for large-scale data center and infrastructure projects, assessing feasibility, identifying risks, and supporting strategic investment decisions. You will work across engineering, development, legal, finance, and external partners to evaluate complex opportunities before major commitments are made. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and enjoys building processes in a fast-growing, innovative environment. You will have the opportunity to create standards, develop best practices, and influence how future infrastructure projects are evaluated and delivered.

Accountabilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary technical due diligence efforts for data center, powered land, build-to-suit, and other strategic infrastructure opportunities.
  • Define and manage the technical evaluation scope, including engineering, environmental, geotechnical, surveying, utility, permitting, and entitlement studies.
  • Assess technical feasibility, identify development constraints, and provide recommendations that support investment and acquisition decisions.
  • Evaluate risks related to site conditions, utilities, connectivity, construction feasibility, development timelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage external engineering consultants and technical partners from initial scope definition through final recommendations.
  • Interpret complex technical studies and translate findings into clear business recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare technical due diligence reports, risk assessments, and executive-level presentations highlighting opportunities, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and improve technical due diligence frameworks, templates, checklists, standards, and review processes.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of engineering firms, consultants, and technical partners.
  • Collaborate with teams across site selection, project development, engineering, energy, network, legal, finance, and delivery to support infrastructure growth.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in technical due diligence, site development, civil engineering, infrastructure design, construction, real estate development, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical assessments and managing external engineering consultants.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical investigations, environmental assessments, permitting, zoning, utilities, infrastructure development, and construction processes.
  • Ability to analyze engineering documentation and translate technical findings into strategic business recommendations.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives independently.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation abilities, with confidence engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and building processes from the ground up.
  • Experience with hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale technology infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of utility infrastructure, power markets, transmission systems, or energy development is a plus.
