Position: Technical Editor
Location: Molesworth, UK
Clearance: TS/SCI

Job Description

Mission Essential is looking for a Technical Editor to support a dynamic contract in the UK. The Technical Editor is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of intelligence products. This position reviews and edits written materials for grammar, punctuation, syntax, clarity, logic, and overall readability while ensuring compliance with agency publication standards.

The Technical Editor ensures that formatting, style, and language align with established style guides, Intelligence Community (IC) standards, and specialized subject-matter terminology. Responsibilities include verifying proper classification markings, validating in-text citations for compliance with IC guidance, and ensuring all products meet required security and publication standards. The Technical Editor also collaborates closely with analysts and authors to refine intelligence products, provide editorial guidance, and deliver polished, accurate, and publication-ready documents within established deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing written intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and adherence to style guides with a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Associate's degree and 8+ years of experience with technical editing, Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with technical editing, or Master's degree and 2+ years of experience with technical editing

Desired Experience

  • Experience working in a COCOM environment
  • Experience incorporating intelligence information into all-source research, analysis, and production
  • Knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC) and office-style guides
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to audiences of varied backgrounds, levels, and comprehension
