Technical Engineer | Fareham, Hampshire
Working as part of a team of engineers, you'll be primarily responsible for the delivery and in-life support of cybersecurity services to clients for a specialist cybersecurity managed services provider. The role includes monitoring and maintenance of both client-based cybersecurity services and back-end infrastructure, with all work logged and tracked via ITSM platform to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met. The successful candidate must be able to receive SC clearance, which will be sponsored by the business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to deploy cybersecurity services including EDR, vulnerability management, email filtering, SIEM/SOAR, Microsoft Sentinel, user training/phishing and other Fortinet products
- Follow documented processes for service rollout, updating and maintaining high standards
- Monitor the health of cybersecurity infrastructure and investigate alerts as required
- Respond to client support queries to provide effective, efficient issue resolution
- Identify potential service issues and address proactively with clients and colleagues
- Plan and roll out projects to improve existing services and/or launch new products
- Track deployments, incidents, problems and changes via the ITSM platform
- Support the wider business with internal IT functions — onboarding/offboarding, laptop builds, access management (Entra), troubleshooting, endpoint configuration (Intune)
- Communicate with clients over phone, IM and email professionally and courteously
- Assist in the development, handover and documentation of new services transitioning into the SOC team
- Identify security incidents within client estates and escalate to the SOC team where required

Skills/Must Have:

- Practical IT support experience covering desktop, server and networking
- At least 12 months' experience as 1st/2nd line support at an MSP, or 2 years in a traditional IT support role
- Experience with the technologies listed above advantageous
- Experience configuring and managing Linux advantageous
- Ability to self-manage workload to meet deadlines
- Understanding of cybersecurity issues, latest developments, risks and research
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude
- Good written and verbal communication skills, able to instruct non-technical audiences
- Strong team player with a desire to share knowledge
