Technical Estimator (GAS)
We are looking for a Technical Estimator (GAS) to join the Technical Team at Thermatic Technical FM.
As a Thermatic Technical Estimator you will be a member of the Minor Works Team. The Minor Works Team main aim is to deliver agreed services to our clients with the utmost standard and efficiency, whilst maintaining and delivering all cost lines.
As a Technical Estimator, you will support this purpose by creating technical quotations from Thermatic Field Engineer Job Reports whilst offering technical support and guidance to support the management of contract/s, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently and drive continuously.

Hours & Location of Work:
- 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. With some flexibility.
- Based in our Head Office in Salford, Manchester.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Basic GAS Technical/ Building Services Knowledge
- Commercial Awareness
- Health & Safety Knowledge
- Previous experience in similar industry

Responsibilities include:
- Create technical quotations and assessments.
- Assist Business Development team in tender pricing with time to service calculation aligned with SFG20 / Best Practice
- Review engineers Job Cards and ensure the Minor Works Team create the correct solution for the client
- Work along side Thermatic Engineering feeding back on engineer job card quality
- Support with responses to questions and requests for information - internally and/or externally
- Drive Minor Works through existing infrastructure to facilitate delivery and completion of Minor Works throughout the assigned accounts.
- Work alongside our Projects department costing smaller scale works and supporting on bigger projects when needed
- Support operational delivery throughout the team.
- Identify opportunities with processes, providing solutions to drive continuous improvements
- Answer all external calls and emails where necessary in a timely manner; ensure that team are actively doing so too
- Be part of a dedicated team to assure quality, compliance and reputation of Thermatic brand is upheld
- Attend site visits when needed to price works
- Work with account team to manage all relevant jobs through the entire process, from logging of the job to invoicing
- Drive Net Zero and Carbon Reports to ensure clients remain compliant
- Commercial awareness of operational impact and what measures can be taken to improve
- Responsible for the required margin on all quoted works
- Awareness of gross profit and driving efficiencies, and how to impact/improve
- Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships; past, current, and future
- Deliver and role model excellent customer service through all channels of communication - email, phone and/or portal
- Gain in depth understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Actively seek feedback on operational performance, act upon feedback where possible and escalate when needed
- Attend client meetings to deliver operational updates when required
- Follow up on quotes, PPM & reactive work to ensure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded
- Use a collaborative approach across your team to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal
- Attend team meetings and discussions
- Ensure to celebrate success, recognise
- Uphold compliance and due diligence with all contractual requirements and KPI’s
- Manage compliance with legislative requirements, e.g., correct certificates are needed and issued on completions on jobs
- Always prioritise and ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues
- Identify and report any hazards, near misses in line with the Company’s reporting procedures
