Role: Technical Event Manager

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: London, UK (Moorgate/ Bank region)

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000(dependent on experience), plus company benefits

Interview Process: 2-stage (Virtual and Face-to-face)

Hours: Monday – Friday – 40 hours (shifts between 7am – 7pm)

Due to an exciting new client win, we now have an opportunity for a proven Technical Event Manager to join us on site at this well-recognised company headquarters, based in the Moorgate/Bank region of London.

About the Role

Working as the key Technical Event Manager your prime focus will be managing all technical elements for their Conferences and Events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with client’s Conference & Events Team and a small group of internal VIP clients to determine business requirements and deliver timely and cost-effective technical solutions for virtual and hybrid events
  • Working with internal and external production teams to plan and execute technical requirements for conferences and roadshow events
  • Work alongside partner virtual event platform providers (project managers and engineers)
  • Occasional event moderator duties
  • Internal reporting up to management
  • Attend pre-production meetings
  • Arrange technical tests and speaker training with internal and external clients; this will include VIP public speakers, Blue-chip company CEOs, as well as senior comms and marketing staff
  • Coordinate pre-call checks and show call for multi-day conferences
  • Oversee internal and outsourced technicians, including shift scheduling

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with complex virtual event platforms
  • Experience with Ross Video products would be advantageous
  • Understanding technical capabilities and best practices to deliver seamless hybrid events
  • Proven experience in audio, video, staging or related field
  • Experience working directly with Board level clients
  • Basic understanding of Project Management skills in an Event environment
  • Excellent multi-tasking with a strong eye for detail
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency
  • Familiar with auditorium systems, record and playback equipment, camera setups, video recording and stage lighting, P/A systems, microphones, audio mixers and amplifiers and associated screens, speakers and sets, video switchers, routing equipment and audio mixing equipment
  • Familiarity with PC, LAN, streaming audio/video and telecommunications operations and terminology
  • Knowledge of virtual meeting rooms is essential
  • Working knowledge of Videoconferencing technology (hardware and protocols)
  • High energy level; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
