Who are we looking for?
Engineering mindset — experience in fabricating and welding is definitely an advantage but someone with pipework and/or plumbing experience could fit the role. They need to understand what works and what doesn’t work for our teams of fabricators and welders.
Technical drawing familiarity — you will be reviewing models and drawings in BIM, 3D etc for the most efficient and practical way that these would be fabricated so at least some experience in this area is key.
Planning and delivery — ability to self-manage, regulate priorities and time manage to achieve the results for the business unit.
Operational excellence — driving productivity, cost control, quality, and continuously looking for better, smarter ways of working with the fabrication facilities.
Continual improvement — no one has all the answers. We’re looking for colleagues who challenge constructively, learn continuously, and turn improvement ideas into real results.

Our Manufacturing function is being shaped as part of a new Business Unit, with responsibility for leading and aligning multiple feeder sites into one high-performing operation. Working closely with the Business Unit Manager and a senior leadership team across Commercial, Planning & Forecasting, HSE, Quality, and Plant Assets, the focus is on building consistency, capability, and delivery excellence. What You'll be Doing
The role is responsible for reviewing fabrication drawings and BIM models prior to production to identify and resolve dimensional, design, clash, access and constructability issues, ensuring all information is accurate, manufacturable, weldable and practical for the shop floor. The position develops efficient fabrication strategies, logical sub-assemblies and practical fabrication packages, while minimising unnecessary welding, production time, handling and rework through effective consideration of welding access, sequencing, distortion and available equipment. Working closely with engineering, production and welding teams, the role supports the resolution of technical and manufacturing issues and drives continuous improvement through automation, mechanisation, tooling and new manufacturing technologies, developing and implementing improved fabrication methods to enhance efficiency, quality and cost performance.
