Technical Facilities Manager
Hook, Hampshire | Permanent, full-time | £48,000 plus £4,300 car allowance
This is an opportunity to take ownership of hard FM delivery across a high-profile defence site in North Hampshire. You'll lead a team of two Assistant Facilities Managers and manage a network of specialist subcontractors, making sure maintenance, compliance and small works are delivered to a high standard.
This is a client-facing leadership role. The customer is demanding and expectations are high, so building strong relationships and communicating clearly at every level matter as much as operational performance. If you're an experienced hard FM manager who is confident in front of a client and strong at holding contractors to account, this is a role where you can make a visible difference.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
