Technical Field Research Lead
At ICL Growing Solutions, we are looking for a passionate and scientifically driven Technical Field Research Lead to join our AmegA Sciences team.
In this role, you will lead the evaluation and validation of innovative technologies and product concepts focused on plant performance, Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) and Water Use Efficiency (WUE) across agricultural, horticultural, turf and ornamental markets worldwide.

Your role
As Technical Field Research Lead, you will play a key role in advancing innovative technologies from concept through commercialization and beyond. You will work closely with internal and external partners to generate scientific evidence, identify commercial opportunities, and support the successful launch and ongoing development of new products.
The role reports to the Business Manager – AmegA Sciences and collaborates closely with Global R&D, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing and external research partners.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the evaluation and development of innovative technologies and product concepts with a focus on Water Use Efficiency (WUE), Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) and plant physiology
- Identify and assess emerging scientific developments, new technologies and competitive innovations to support future business growth
- Manage research projects from concept through commercialization, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation and milestone management
- Design, commission and oversee internal and external field, glasshouse and laboratory trials
- Analyze and interpret scientific data using robust experimental and statistical methodologies
- Prepare scientific reports, technical presentations and project updates for internal stakeholders and senior leadership
- Collaborate with universities, research institutes, contract research organizations and external partners
- Support intellectual property development through invention disclosures, patent applications and collaboration with legal and patent specialists
- Manage project budgets, including trial expenditure, investment assessments and commercial evaluations
- Present technical findings, product concepts and project outcomes to customers, industry forums and global project teams
- Support product positioning, marketing claims, regulatory submissions and customer-facing scientific materials
- Contribute scientific data and technical expertise for product registration and regulatory activities
- Develop and continuously refine scientifically substantiated product claims and use recommendations
- Support successful product launches through technical training, demonstrations and scientific presentations

About you
You are a scientifically minded research professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple innovation projects in an international environment.
You bring:
- A degree in Plant Physiology, Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Agriculture or a related scientific discipline
- Proven experience in agricultural, horticultural, turf or plant science research and development
- Strong knowledge of plant physiology, Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE) and Water Use Efficiency (WUE)
- Experience designing and managing field, glasshouse and laboratory trials
- Strong statistical analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex scientific datasets
- Experience working with universities, research institutions and external trial providers
- Project management experience, including budget responsibility and milestone tracking
- The ability to translate scientific findings into practical commercial recommendations
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience supporting innovation projects through stage-gate development processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software
- A proactive, innovative and solution-oriented mindset
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required
