Position Description

At CGI, we empower the next generation of innovators to shape the future of technology and security. As part of #GenerationCGI, you’ll join a community of graduates who are turning ambition into action and possibility into progress.

As an Applied AI Engineering & Deployment Technical Graduate, you’ll help develop artificial intelligence solutions and put them to work in real client environments. Depending on your role, you could focus on engineering AI and machine-learning solutions or work directly with clients to adapt, integrate and deploy those solutions around their needs.

You’ll be trusted with responsibility from the start, combining software engineering, data and AI skills with collaboration and clear communication. You’ll contribute to practical AI solutions that address complex challenges and create meaningful outcomes for CGI’s clients.

Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help take AI solutions from initial ideas through to practical implementation. You’ll work with technical specialists, client teams and other stakeholders to build, test, deploy and improve solutions that use data, machine learning and generative AI.

You may:

  • Develop AI solutions: Design and build applications or services using artificial intelligence, machine learning and generative AI technologies.
  • Deploy technology with clients: Work with client teams to understand their needs and adapt, integrate and implement AI solutions within real operating environments.
  • Engineer supporting software: Develop reliable code, APIs and technical components that allow AI capabilities to work within wider systems.
  • Work with data: Prepare, model and analyse data, working with databases and data pipelines to support effective AI solutions.
  • Evaluate and improve performance: Test AI outputs, investigate issues and help improve the accuracy, reliability and usefulness of solutions.
  • Communicate insight: Use clear explanations, demonstrations and data visualisations to help technical and non-technical stakeholders understand proposed solutions.
  • Apply AI responsibly: Consider security, privacy, fairness and responsible use throughout the design and deployment of AI technology.
  • Innovate alongside other graduates: Take part in early careers initiatives that go beyond your day-to-day role.

Every contribution you make will help deliver outcomes with lasting impact.

Locations

Opportunities are available in London and Reading.

As CGI is a consultancy, you may be required to work from a CGI office or client site and occasionally travel to different locations. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are therefore important.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
