Position Description
At CGI, we empower the next generation of innovators to shape the future of technology and security. As part of #GenerationCGI, you’ll join a community of graduates who are turning ambition into action and possibility into progress.
As a Technical Graduate specialising in Cyber Security, you’ll help protect the systems, services and information that organisations depend on. You could be supporting security operations, managing vulnerabilities, improving identity and access controls or helping clients understand and manage security risk.
You’ll be trusted with responsibility from the start, developing broad cyber security experience across technical security, cloud security, information security and governance, risk and compliance. Working alongside experienced CGI and client security teams, you’ll contribute to solutions that protect critical services and make a real difference.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you’ll develop experience across different areas of cyber security while helping clients protect their technology, information and services. The work will vary by project, giving you opportunities to build both technical security expertise and an understanding of cyber risk and governance.
You may:
- Support security operations: Help monitor systems, investigate security events and contribute to effective incident detection and response.
- Manage vulnerabilities: Identify, assess and help address vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Protect identities and access: Support identity and access management processes that ensure users have appropriate and secure access to systems and information.
- Understand security risk: Help assess risks, maintain security controls and support governance, risk and compliance activities.
- Build security into delivery: Work with technical teams to apply DevSecOps practices and strengthen security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support secure platforms: Contribute to the development and operation of secure cloud, Linux and data-engineering environments.
- Explore emerging threats: Develop your understanding of areas such as cloud security, data security and the secure use of artificial intelligence.
- Innovate alongside other graduates: Take part in early careers initiatives that go beyond your day-to-day role.
Every contribution you make will help deliver outcomes with lasting impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
