Job Title
Are you passionate about developing technical competence and helping the renewable energy workforce perform safely and effectively?
We are looking for a motivated and engaging Technical Instructor to join our growing team in the Newcastle Region. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the renewable energy sector, delivering industry-leading technical training that equips personnel with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to maintain, troubleshoot, and operate renewable energy assets safely and efficiently. Whether you already have experience delivering technical training or come from a wind turbine technician, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, military engineering, industrial maintenance, or operations background, we would like to hear from you.
What We Offer
As a Technical Instructor, you will join a highly skilled and supportive team dedicated to developing the next generation of renewable energy technicians. In this role, you will:
- Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based technical training programmes
- Develop specialist knowledge across technical and operational disciplines
- Work with a diverse range of delegates from the renewable energy industry
- Deliver both standardised and customised training solutions
- Travel to training centres and client locations throughout the UK when required
- Be supported through ongoing professional development and instructor development programmes
- Play a key role in improving workforce competence across the renewable energy sector

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess technical training in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
- Facilitate practical and theoretical learning sessions covering electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and operational systems
- Support delegates in developing technical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for all learners
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support throughout training programmes
- Maintain training equipment, simulators, and workshop facilities in a safe and serviceable condition
- Conduct routine inspections and safety checks of training equipment and facilities
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of training materials and programmes
- Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence
- Represent the company professionally and uphold company values at all times

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or willingness to achieve)
- Technical background in renewable energy, engineering, maintenance, or operations
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or control systems
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to travel when required
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Desirable
- Wind turbine technician experience
- Experience delivering technical or vocational training
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and operations
- Electrical qualifications or apprenticeship background
- Mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience with fault finding and troubleshooting methodologies
- GWO Instructor qualifications
- Assessor or verifier qualifications
- Familiarity with HV/LV systems, hydraulics, PLCs, or condition monitoring technologies
