Job Overview

We have an opportunity for an additional Technical Instructor Band 4 to join the ICELS Clinical Team as part of the Active Recall function.

The key focus of the role is active recall of community equipment, contacting and visiting people to review the equipment they have on loan and arranging for collection of equipment no longer required. You will also arrange repairs of faulty equipment, liaise with Medequip to plan outstanding maintenance and refer people to relevant services for a reassessment of their needs.

This is a permanent part-time post of 18.5 hours per week and there is flexibility to agree how these hours will be worked across Monday to Friday. The ICELS office is based at the Medequip depot in Glen Parva, however the team has a hybrid working approach, mainly working from home but attending the office regularly for team meetings and training.

About ICELS

We are a jointly funded service, managed on behalf of Leicester City, Leicestershire County and Rutland Local Authorities and the NHS Integrated Care Board. Leicester City Council is the host organisation for the service; however all clinical posts are hosted by LPT to maintain clinical competencies.

ICELS provides loan equipment to adults, children and young people in community, education and care settings, via the contract with Medequip. The service is a key part of LLR health and social care strategies supporting independence, treatment and rehabilitation at home, timely hospital discharge and admission avoidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
