About The Role
Our purpose is to use the power of communication to make a better world. For each other, for our customers, for society and our communities.
This role supports the successful integration of new systems, products, services, and validation campaigns to assure the quality of the deliveries on behalf of EE and its customers, through technical and commercial launch.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background, having had hands on experience working with packet core nodes. The successful candidate would become our SME, and our go to person within the team, who is willing to share your expertise and knowledge.
This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of networks and the innovation in what we do including access to new technologies. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team who deliver projects and services for our customers through the comprehensive testing of our mobile network technologies and innovations.
This role is based in London or Bristol and our hybrid working model means you are expected to be in the office 3 days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Use a broad knowledge of testing approaches, practices and techniques to engage projects, programmes and stakeholders, and create the test architecture elements of the overall solution design.
- Analyse low-level traces to identify issues and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Support Delivery Leads, Programme Test Managers and Test Managers in achieving their strategic goals by providing technical support to them and the test delivery teams.
- Monitor the effectiveness of testing methodologies and tools, using insights from all stages of the end-to-end delivery lifecycle to drive improvements.
- Identify testing tools and technologies that can be implemented, aligning with those used across the wider design and development functions and by strategic technology partners.
- Work with Test Automation teams to design and develop the test automation framework as an intrinsic part of the solution design, driving automation and increasing its coverage across successive deliveries.
- Work with Environment Delivery and Support teams to ensure mobile network and IT environments keep pace with testing tools and delivery requirements, and help define an environment strategy that supports live-reflective and future releases in the lab.
- Provide technical expertise, documentation and training to testing and other business functions, and coach members of the Mobile Core Test team.
- Stay current with process, practice and technology developments, adopting them where appropriate to enhance solutions for technical and business requirements.
- Work with internal and external design and development teams and suppliers to assess and implement new technologies and delivery methodologies that drive continuous improvement and efficiency, including CI/CD, Agile and Waterfall.
- Act as a Test Architect for new platforms and services, helping to shape the associated testing strategy and delivery methodologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
