Technical Major Account Manager - West Midlands, South Wales, or Marches / Border region (Field-based)

Salary: Up to £70,000 basic salary + Company Car + Bonus + Pension & Benefits

Are you a technical sales professional with deep roots in the heavy industry sector? Do you understand the complex, high-stakes operational environment of a steel mill?

This leading provider of engineering solutions is seeking a Technical Major Account Manager to manage and grow their footprint across major UK steel mills and heavy industrial plants. You will act as the primary technical interface, solving complex engineering challenges for our clients and delivering high-value solutions.

You will inherit incredibly rich relationships nurtured over many years, so this is a true technical, major account management role in every sense.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop senior-level relationships within UK steel mills and aligned heavy industries.
  • Provide technical consultations to match engineering solutions with client operational needs.
  • Conduct site surveys, technical presentations, and commercial negotiations to close high-value contracts.
  • Meet regional sales targets by identifying new applications for a diverse product portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: A formal technical or engineering qualification at HND level or higher (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Metallurgy preferred).
  • Experience: Proven track record in technical B2B sales, ideally selling directly into steel mills or closely aligned heavy industrial environments (e.g., foundry, forging, power generation, heavy processing).
  • Location: Based in the West Midlands, South Wales, or along the connecting border region, with a willingness to travel extensively across the territory.
  • Attributes: Strong commercial acumen combined with the ability to converse effortlessly with plant engineers and procurement teams alike.
