Technical Lead - HX Renew

Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £110,000 + 17.5% Bonus

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join a specialist Risk, Rating & Pricing Technology team, playing a key role in the evolution of our underwriting and pricing platforms.

This role will focus heavily on HX Renew, helping to deliver business-led initiatives, enable complex rating and pricing stories, and drive technical solutions across underwriting systems and integrations.

Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and business stakeholders, you'll provide technical leadership across a modern cloud-based environment while remaining hands-on with solution design and technical decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in insurance or reinsurance technology who enjoys working at the intersection of underwriting, rating engines, cloud services, and API-led integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across the Risk, Rating & Pricing technology landscape.
  • Lead solution design activities and shape technical direction for HX Renew initiatives.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements and user stories into scalable technical solutions.
  • Enable and deliver the underwriting and pricing roadmap through effective technology leadership.
  • Drive integration initiatives between HX Renew and surrounding underwriting platforms.
  • Support and guide Agile delivery teams through daily stand-ups and sprint ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and product teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making across projects and programmes.
  • Support cloud-based application design, deployment, and optimisation.
  • Promote engineering best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across the wider team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
