Location: London (hybrid, near Monument)
Salary: £100,000–£120,000
Position: Full-time
The Company
We're collaborating with a B2B SaaS company specializing in political and policy intelligence. Their platform monitors activities across Westminster, the devolved nations, and increasingly the EU, providing insights to those who need it. The platform boasts around 20,000 users, primarily from public affairs and government relations teams within large banks, insurers, telcos, and industrials.
The engineering team comprises six individuals, including the Director of Engineering: two full-time engineers, one QA specialist, and two contractors. The team is small, backed by private equity, and is in the midst of a platform rebuild.
The Role
This position involves a platform rebuild, transitioning from rows of tables to a single-screen interface where users can ask anything about their business in politics and analyze it. Large Language Models (LLMs) will synthesize the information, with human analysts still in the loop. The platform will ingest high-volume data from government sources and the open web, adding layers of relevance and sentiment, and alerting those who are interested. It’s not a wrapper or AI theatre, and uptime is a significant concern.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The company is stack agnostic in their hiring. They seek someone capable of running parallel streams of agent work and delivering results. A task that previously took two weeks should now take a couple of hours, allowing you to move on to the next task while it runs. Releases are structured with a deliberately longer testing window because code is now landing quickly.
What They're Looking For
- You should manage multiple streams of agent work simultaneously and have strong opinions on how to execute it effectively.
- Tool choice is up to you; the team uses Codex and Claude Code.
- They are currently frustrated with design decisions, such as whether to include a footer. They want someone who can make decisions and move forward.
- Tickets originate from the product team. You will push back on them and stay ahead of them instead of just moving them across the board.
- A proven track record of problem-solving rather than just delivering tickets is essential. Backgrounds in classic tech lead or principal engineer roles are suitable, as are engineering managers looking to get hands-on again.
- Comfort in a six-person team where you are the most senior individual contributor.
- Sector, university, and company type are irrelevant to them, which is deliberate.
