Technical Lead, Software Engineering
London, UK
Permanent | Hybrid
£120,000 - £140,000 + 25% bonus
Curated is partnered with a high-growth, AI-first technology business, one of the most profitable in their sector, to find a Technical Lead to join their expanding engineering team in London.
Their platform handles complex, high-stakes transactions at scale across a multi-step customer journey. Every part of that journey is being rebuilt from the ground up, with a product-led team, a modern stack, and AI woven into the core. The ambition is to scale the business 2 to 3x. This role helps build the technology that gets them there.
This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You will own technical design and delivery end to end, lead and grow a team of engineers, and work directly with product and the business to turn complex problems into elegant, scalable solutions. Not someone who delegates and reviews.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why it is worth a look
- Most tech lead roles own a slice of the system. This one owns the architecture of a platform being rebuilt from first principles
- Greenfield development at real scale, inside a profitable, well-capitalised global business with a five to ten year technology roadmap
- Small, senior engineering team with a direct line to the CTO and genuine influence from day one
- High autonomy, high accountability, and a genuine mandate to define how engineering is done, not just execute someone else's plan
- AI is central to the roadmap and the way the team works, not a buzzword but a primary tool for how software gets built and shipped
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
