Role: Technical Lead – C#/.NET & Cloud
Location: West London, 2 days per week
Salary: up to £90,000+
Tech: C# /.NET / AWS or Azure | Technical & People Leadership
I’m working with a well-established UK consumer brand that is investing heavily in its technology platform, and we’re looking for a Technical Lead to take ownership of an established engineering team and help lead them through a major new-build programme.
This is a genuine player-coach leadership role.
You won’t be expected to spend every sprint buried in feature delivery, and equally, they don't want someone who has completely stepped away from technology.
Instead, you’ll lead and develop engineers, set technical direction, challenge design decisions and create an environment where senior engineers are empowered to make decisions rather than everything becoming dependent on the Tech Lead.

Following your initial onboarding, you'll lead the team into a significant new-build programme running through most of next year, working on the technology and integrations underpinning complex order and fulfilment journeys.
What you'll be doing
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Software Engineers and QA Engineers
- Setting technical direction without becoming a bottleneck
- Working closely with Product and Architecture on solution design
- Reviewing PRs and providing technical guidance
- Getting hands-on with occasional POCs where it adds value
- Improving engineering standards, scalability and resilience
- Leading the technical delivery of a major new-build programme
- Working across internal services and third-party platforms

AWS experience would be ideal, but we're absolutely open to strong Azure backgrounds.
What we're looking for
The biggest priority is leadership.
You'll ideally have 2+ years' experience leading engineering teams and a strong software engineering background that allows you to remain technically credible with experienced developers.
There is no coding exercise as part of the interview process.
