Technical Lead | SaaS
Hybrid — Central London, 3 days on-site
£110,000–£125,000 · Must be eligible for future UK SC clearance
We're partnering with a PE-backed, high-growth technology scale-up delivering secure, mission-critical SaaS into UK Defence. It's early enough that you'll help shape how the team and the platform grow, on work that carries real national significance.
This is a hands-on Technical Lead role centred on two things: leading software delivery and owning live service operations. You'll lead delivery across an established offshore partner with a view to building up an in house team of Software Engineers in the near future.
You will take full ownership of software development and cloud production environment - deployments, patching, automation and the day-to-day operability of the platform. As the product expands into new use cases and markets, you'll support fast, business-driven prototyping to help win and grow work. You'll report into senior leadership, with clear room to grow into an Engineering Director / CTO remit as the company scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
