An established, multi-studio architecture practice is looking to appoint a Technical Leader to provide practice-wide technical oversight across Commercial & High Rise Multi Residential projects in the UK.


This is a senior, strategic role suited to an experienced Architect or Chartered Architectural Technologist who thrives on setting technical standards, guiding teams, and leading on building safety, compliance and buildability.


The Role

The Senior Technical Leader will operate as the central technical authority within the practice, supporting projects from early design development through construction and handover.

Working closely with Project Leaders, this role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance and risk management are embedded across all RIBA stages.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading technical design reviews
  • Advising on Building Regulations, fire and life safety
  • Supporting construction stage delivery
  • Contributing to the development of technical standards, guidance and quality systems across the practice
  • Engaging with contractors, consultants and clients to ensure coordinated, compliant delivery

Requirements

  • Extensive post-qualification experience delivering UK Residential, Commercial or mixed-use schemes, particularly across RIBA Stages 3–6
  • 15+ years’ experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, fire safety, and detailed technical delivery
  • Confidence liaising with contractors, consultants and clients
  • A natural mentor who enjoys supporting and training others, raising technical capability across multiple teams and studios
