Technical Lead for Generative AI & Cloud Technologies
Job Purpose/Overview
As the Technical Lead for Generative AI & Cloud Technologies, the associate will serve as the primary technical authority, driving the design, integration, and development of **enterprise-level artificial intelligence and cloud-native solutions. Reporting to the Global Head of Data, AI, and Enterprise Architecture, this role resides within the FN Digital Technologies team and operates globally, partnering with FN business and digital leaders across all functions.
Mars Food & Nutrition is a leading CPG business that leverages digital technologies to deliver innovative products and services. In this position, you will:
- Provide insight, thought leadership, and technology guidance for tech projects/initiatives.
- Collaborate with the central Mars Inc. Digital Technology team to assess existing capabilities and explore new developments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology initiatives aligned with business requirements and strategic goals.
- Evaluate and recommend the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve system performance, security, scalability, and efficiency.
Agile Development & Innovation
- Build quick Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) using emerging AI models and frameworks to address complex business challenges.
- Stay ahead of AI/ML trends—integrating solutions such as MS Copilot, Google Vertex AI, Claude, Azure AI, and others into enterprise systems (Microsoft, Workday, SAP).

Technical Collaboration & Specification
- Partner with cross-functional teams (business stakeholders, project managers, developers, analysts) to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
- Draft high-level and detailed architecture designs, considering factors such as performance, security, integration, and user experience.
Resource Management & Strategic Planning
- Assist in estimating project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets related to architecture and development efforts.
- Contribute to technology architecture standards, documentation, and roadmaps in consultation with AI/ML and cloud experts.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- 8–14 years of total software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or architectural design capacity.
- Proven experience in designing secure, high-availability, performant solutions for large-scale, high-transaction systems.
- Hands-on coding expertise, with familiarity in AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Azure OpenAI).
Specialised Cloud & AI Technologies
- Expertise in multi-agent orchestration, function calling, tool use, long-term memory systems, and guardrails for AI applications.
- Integration technologies & protocols expertise (APIs, REST, HTTPS, OAuth, GraphQL).

Enterprise-Scale AI & Cloud Platforms
- Proficiency in AI/ML algorithms and oracle knowledge of SaaS AI platforms such as:
- Microsoft Copilot/Azure AI
- Google Vertex Ai & Gemini Enterprise
- Claude
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP preferred)—including:
- Modern compute (Kubernetes/AKS/EKS, Serverless)
- Identity Management & Access (IAM)
- Networks and secure storage architectures
CPG & Technical Collaboration
- 2–4 years’ experience in CPG or Retail tech domains.
Soft Skills & Influence
- Analytical, strategic, and problem-solving mindset with the ability to translate business needs into architectural solutions.
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills in matrixed external environments.
- Learning agility and a commitment to upskilling as technologies evolve.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in AI/ML or cloud architecture (e.g., Azure AI Engineer, Google ML Engineer, TOGAF).
