Technical Lead - AI & Software Engineering
Location: London
Working: Remote
About the Company
An innovative, fast-growing FinTech is transforming the mortgage industry through technology and AI, with a mission to make borrowing more accessible and help mortgage brokers overcome affordability and risk challenges.
The business has experienced significant growth, increasing annual lending volumes by over 80% to approximately £350m in 2025, alongside major investment in technology and AI.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to help shape and build the next generation of a modern lending platform.
This is not a traditional management role. You’ll remain heavily involved in designing, coding, testing and reviewing production software while influencing architecture, technical direction and engineering standards.
AI is central to the role. You’ll work hands-on with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows and AI-enabled services, taking ideas from rapid experimentation through to secure, reliable production systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
