The Job
Some engineering leadership jobs are about managing people.
This one is about improving how engineering gets done.
You’ll lead a team building and evolving enterprise data platforms that sit at the heart of a highly regulated financial environment. You’ll stay close to the technology, helping engineers solve difficult problems, raising engineering standards and influencing technical direction without becoming a hands-off manager.

You’ll work across cloud and on-premise environments, helping shape data platforms that process large volumes of business-critical information using technologies including Snowflake, Databricks, SQL and Python.

You’ll influence architecture, mentor engineers, introduce better engineering practices and help teams make better technical decisions. AI is becoming part of the engineering toolkit here too, so you’ll have the freedom to introduce tools and approaches that genuinely improve software delivery rather than simply talking about them.

You’ll probably have
- A strong software engineering background before moving into technical leadership.
- Experience building enterprise data platforms using technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, SQL and Python.
- The ability to mentor engineers, improve technical standards and lead engineering decisions across multiple teams.
Experience with lakehouse architecture, enterprise data architecture or AI-assisted software engineering would fit well, but we’re far more interested in how you’ve applied these technologies than simply seeing them listed on a CV.
