Role: Technical Lead
Must have active DV Clearance
Location: Basingstoke
Clearance level: DV required
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of allocated work packages and drive them through design, build, test, and release into live service.
- Provide strong technical leadership across Wintel-based and multi-platform environments.
- Navigate and resolve obstacles including technical blockers, organisational bureaucracy, and interpersonal challenges.
- Assess technical information from engineers, ensuring accuracy and calling out inconsistencies or blockers early.
- Coordinate with engineering, architecture, test, change, and operations teams to maintain momentum and deliver on time.
- Ensure that technical decisions are aligned with programme goals, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Monitor progress, manage risks and issues, and escalate appropriately when required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Delivery Lead, or Senior Engineer in complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of Wintel platforms (Windows Server, AD, group policy, infrastructure services, virtualisation, etc.).
- Broad technical awareness across networks, security, applications, and integrations.
- Ability to challenge technical teams constructively and separate fact from fiction.
- Demonstrated success driving delivery in complex, bureaucratic, or high-pressure environments.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in or alongside Agile teams.
