About iM-Med SteelcoBelimed
iM-Med SteelcoBelimed is a leading UK provider of decontamination equipment, chemistry and technical services to the healthcare sector. Following our joint venture with the Miele Group, we supply and support Steelco and Belimed sterile services and endoscopy equipment for NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers across the UK.
Our work spans washer-disinfectors, autoclaves, endoscope reprocessing and drying systems, UK-manufactured detergents and disinfectants, and nationwide service and validation. We support healthcare customers and supply through the NHS Supply Chain Decontamination Capital Equipment National Framework. As we continue to grow, we are investing in the technical strength of our SSD sector and these roles are central to that.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Technical Lead Engineer (SSD) to provide senior technical support across the full lifecycle of our SSD capital equipment, from installation and commissioning through to in-life stability and continuous improvement.
This is a senior technical role for an experienced SSD engineer who wants to work at the top of their field: leading complex fault diagnosis, owning and supervising commissioning and validation on capital projects, driving preventative improvement, and developing the capability of the engineers around you. You will work across all our UK territories, reporting directly to the Head of SSD Standards and working to the technical standards they set.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
