Technical Lead - West Yorkshire / Hybrid - £45,000 - £60,000
WRK digital are proud to be partnering with a growing technology-for-good organisation dedicated to helping people with autism and special educational needs thrive in the workplace.
The role will be their first internal technology hire - a pivotal appointment that will shape the future of both their platform and technical capability. This is an opportunity to join a mission-led business where your work will have a genuine social impact every day.
The Opportunity
They're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead who can take ownership of their technology platform, improve reliability and security, and help establish the foundations for future growth. You'll be their first in-house technology specialist, acting as the bridge between business needs, product development and technical delivery.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings all day. They are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, writing code, automating processes and taking ownership of technology outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
Service Reliability & Operations
- Own technical operations and platform stability
- Act as the first point of contact for production incidents and outages
- Improve monitoring, alerting and incident management processes
- Reduce operational risk through better documentation and processes
- Work with external technology partners where specialist support is required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
